भगवान श्री गणेश और धन के देवता कुबेर की कहानी
एक दिन अपने धन का दिखावा करने के लिए धन के देवता कुबेर ने महाभोज का आयोजन किया। इस महाभोज में उन्होंने सभी देवतागण को बुलाया। कार्यक्रम का न्योता लेकर वो कैलाश पर्वत पर भगवान शिव के पास भी गए और उन्हें विशेष अतिथि के रूप में आने का न्योता दिया।
भगवान शिव ने एक बार में कुबेर के घमंड को भांप लिया और फिर सोचा कि इसे सही पाठ पढ़ाना जरूरी है। यह सोचकर उन्होंने कुबेर से कहा, “कुबेर, हमें तुम्हारा न्योता स्वीकार है, लेकिन किसी जरूरी काम के कारण हम महाभोज में नहीं आ पाएंगे, किंतु तुम चिंता न करो। हमारी जगह, हमारा पुत्र गणेश तुम्हारे कार्यक्रम में जरूर आएगा।”
भगवान शिव की बात सुनकर कुबेर खुशी-खुशी वहां से चले गए।
महाभोज का दिन आ गया। सभी देवतागण कुबेर के घर पधारने लगे। भगवान श्री गणेश भी समय से कार्यक्रम में पहुंच गए। जैसे ही भोजन शुरू हुआ, भगवान गणेश ने सारा भोजन खत्म कर दिया। जब कुबेर ने बाकी मेहमानों के लिए फिर से भोजन बनवाया, तो गणपति ने फिर से सारा भोजन खा लिया। भगवान गणेश कुबेर की रसोई में रखा सारा खाना खत्म करते जा रहे थे, लेकिन उनकी भूख शांत ही नहीं हो रही थी। धीरे-धीरे करके कुबेर के पास मौजूद सभी खाने की चीजें खत्म हो गईं, तो उन्होंने भगवान गणेश से कहा, “प्रभु और खाना आने में समय लगेगा। तब तक आप बैठ जाइए।” इस पर भगवान गणेश ने कहा, “अगर तुमने मुझे अभी भोजन नहीं दिया, तो मैं तुम्हारे महल में रखी हर चीज खा जाऊंगा।”
यह सुनते ही कुबेर घबरा गए और उन्हें अपनी गलती का एहसास हो गया। वो तुरंत भगवान गणेश के पैरों में गिर गए और उनसे माफी मांग ली।
कहानी से सीख: इस कहानी से हमें यह सीख मिलती है कि हमें कभी भी घमंड नहीं करना चाहिए।
Story of Lord Shri Ganesha and Kuber, the God of wealth
One day, to show off his wealth, Kubera, the god of wealth, organized a great feast. He called all the deities in this great feast. Taking the invitation for the program, he also went to Lord Shiva on Mount Kailash and invited him to come as a special guest.
Lord Shiva at once sensed the arrogance of Kubera and then thought that it was necessary to teach him the right lesson. Thinking of this he said to Kuber, “Kuber, we accept your invitation,
But due to some important work, we will not be able to attend the great feast, but don't worry. In our place, our son Ganesh will definitely come to your program.
After listening to Lord Shiva, Kuber happily left from there.
The day of the great feast has arrived. All the deities started visiting Kuber's house. Lord Shri Ganesh also reached the program on time. As soon as the meal started, Lord Ganesha finished all the food. When Kubera again prepared food for the rest of the guests, Ganapati again ate all the food. Lord Ganesha was finishing all the food kept in Kuber's kitchen, but his hunger was not getting satisfied. Gradually, all the food items available with Kuber ran out, so he said to Lord Ganesha, “Lord, it will take time to get more food. Till then you sit down. To this Lord Ganesha said, “If you do not give me food now, I will eat everything kept in your palace.”
On hearing this, Kubera was horrified and realized his mistake. He immediately fell at the feet of Lord Ganesha and apologized to him.
Learning from the story: This story teaches us that we should never be proud.
