भगवान विष्णु को इस संसार के पालनहार के रूप में पूजा जाता है। भगवान विष्णु की आराधना से व्यक्ति के जीवन में सुख, समृद्धि और शांति स्थापित होती है। माना जाता है कि भगवान विष्णु के पूजन से व्यक्ति को मां लक्ष्मी का आशीर्वाद भी स्वतः ही प्राप्त हो जाता है। भगवान विष्णु के अनेकों भक्त हैं और उनके भक्त उन्हें विभिन्न नामों से पुकारते हैं।
कोई उन्हें श्री हरि कहता है तो कोई नारायण। वहीं, कुछ भक्त उन्हें लक्ष्मीपति के नाम से भी संबोधित करते हैं।

नारायण नाम का रहस्य
पौराणिक कथाओं के अनुसार, भगवान विष्णु को उनके सर्वाधिक प्रिय भक्त देवर्षि नारद नारायण कह कर पुकारा करते थे। नारायण का सम्बंध जल से है। वैकुण्ठ धाम में क्षीर सागर के अतल (गहराई) में भगवान विष्णु वास करते हैं।
जल का पर्यायवाची शब्द नीर है। जिसे संस्कृत भाषा में उपयोग करते समय कुछ विशेष स्थितियों में नर भी कहा जाता है। यानी कि अथाह नर या नीर की गहराई में निवास करने वाले नारायण। तो ऐसे पड़ा था भगवान विष्णु का नारायण नाम।

हरि नाम का रहस्य
भगवान विष्णु का एक नाम हरि भी है। हरि का अर्थ होता है हरने वाला और कुछ विशेष स्थितियों में हरि का अर्थ चुराने वाला भी माना जाता है। भगवान विष्णु पालनकर्ता के साथ साथ दुख हरता भी हैं। भगवान विष्णु की पूर्ण श्रद्धा से गई आराधना उन्हें अपने भक्तों के दुख और कष्ट हरने पर विवश कर देती है|
इसी कारण से भगवान विष्णु हरि कहलाते हैं। विष्णु पुराण में लिखित पंक्ति 'हरि हरति पापणि' में इस बात का उल्लेख भी मिलता है। इस पंक्ति का अर्थ है जीवन के सारे पापों और विलापों को हरने वाले हरि यानी कि भगवान विष्णु।

Lord Vishnu is worshiped as the preserver of this world. Worshiping Lord Vishnu brings happiness, prosperity and peace in a person's life. It is believed that by worshiping Lord Vishnu, a person automatically gets the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi. Lord Vishnu has many devotees and his devotees call him by different names.
Some call him Shri Hari and some call him Narayan. At the same time, some devotees also address him by the name of Lakshmipati.

According to mythology, Lord Vishnu was addressed by his most beloved devotee Devarshi Narad Narayan. Narayan is related to water. Lord Vishnu resides in the Atal (depth) of the Kshir Sagar.
Neer is a synonym for water. Which is also called male in some special situations when used in Sanskrit language. That is, Narayan who resides in the depths of bottomless man or water. So, the name Narayan of Lord Vishnu was coined like this.

Hari is also a name of Lord Vishnu. The meaning of Hari is the one who loses and in some special situations the meaning of Hari is also considered to be the one who steals. Lord Vishnu is the protector as well as the remover of sorrows. Worshiping Lord Vishnu with full devotion compels him to remove the sorrows and sufferings of his devotees.
For this reason Lord Vishnu is called Hari. This thing is also mentioned in the line 'Hari Harati Papani' written in Vishnu Purana. The meaning of this line is Hari i.e. Lord Vishnu who defeats all the sins and lamentations of life.
