हनुमान जी का जन्म कैसे हुआ था?
सनातन शास्त्रों में हनुमान जी के जन्म को लेकर कई किदवंती है। इनमें एक कथा बेहद लोकप्रिय है। एक बार की बात है जब स्वर्ग में दुर्वासा द्वारा आयोजित सभा में स्वर्ग के राजा इंद्र भी उपस्थित थे। उस समय पुंजिकस्थली नामक अप्सरा ने बिना किसी प्रयोजन के सभा में दखल देकर उपस्थित देवगणों का ध्यान भटकाने की कोशिश की। इससे क्रुद्ध होकर ऋषि दुर्वासा ने पुंजिकस्थली को बंदरिया बनने का श्राप दे दिया। यह सुन पुंजिकस्थली रोने लगी।

तब ऋषि दुर्वासा ने कहा कि अगले जन्म में तुम्हारी शादी बंदरों के देवता से होगी। साथ ही पुत्र भी बंदर प्राप्त होगा। अगले जन्म में माता अंजनी की शादी बंदर भगवान केसरी से हुई। कालांतर में माता अंजनी के घर हनुमान जी का जन्म हुआ। एक अन्य किदवंती है कि राजा दशरथ ने संतान प्राप्ति के लिए यज्ञ करवाया था। इस यज्ञ से प्राप्त हवि को खाकर राजा दशरथ की पत्नियां गर्भवती हुई। इस हवि के कुछ अंश को एक गरुड़ लेकर उड़ गया और उस जगह पर गिरा दिया। जहां माता अंजना पुत्र प्राप्ति के लिए तप कर रही थी। माता अंजनी ने हवि को स्वीकार कर ग्रहण किया। इस हवि से माता अंजनी गर्भवती हो गई। कालांतर में माता अंजनी के गर्भ से हनुमान जी का जन्म हुआ।

At that time, an Apsara named Punjikasthali tried to divert the attention of the deities present by unnecessarily interfering in the gathering. Enraged by this, sage Durvasa cursed Punjikasthali to become a monkey. Hearing this, Punjikasthali started crying.

Then sage Durvasa said that in the next life you will be married to the god of monkeys. Along with this, the son will also get a monkey. In the next birth, Mother Anjani was married to the monkey god Kesari. Later, Hanuman ji was born in the house of mother Anjani. There is another legend that King Dasaratha had performed a yagya to get a child. King Dasaratha's wives became pregnant after eating the havi obtained from this yagya. An eagle flew away with some part of this havi and dropped it at that place. Where mother Anjana was doing penance to get a son. Mata Anjani accepted Havi and accepted it. Mother Anjani became pregnant from this Havi. Later, Hanuman ji was born from the womb of mother Anjani.
