कौन थी शिव जी की पुत्री और किसने किया था उसका अपहरण?
ये तो सभी को ज्ञात होगा कि भगवान शिव शंकर भोले नाथ के दो पुत्र है, सबसे बड़े कार्तिकेय और दूसरे पुत्र प्रथम पूज्य श्री गणेश जी। परंतु भगवान शिव और पार्वती जी की पांच पुत्री भी थी। जिसका उल्लेख पुराणों में मिलता है।
शिव पुत्री का जन्म
शिव महापुराण के अनुसार शिव जी और पार्वती जी के 2 पुत्र और 5 पुत्रियां हुई। इस संदर्भ में एक कथा इस प्रकार आती है कि एक बार नारद जी विचरण करते हुए मृत्यु लोक (धरती लोक) में पहुँचे वहाँ वह एक राजा आयु के यह पहुंचे। उसी समय उस राजा के एक पुत्र हुआ। उसका नाम “नहुष” था। उस दिन रक्षाबंधन था, राजा की पुत्री ने अपने भाई को राखी बांध दी, ये सब नारद जी देख रहे थे। उनका मन भी राखी बंधवाने का हुआ तो नारद जी ने राजा की पुत्री को बहन कह कर पुकारा और बोला कि बहन क्या मुझे राखी नहीं बाँधोगी।
इतना सुनते ही राजा की पुत्री ने नारद जी को भी राखी बांध दिया। इस प्रकार नारद जी को एक बहन मिल गयी। अब नारद जी विचरण करते हुए कैलाश पर्वत पहुंचे जहां उन्होंने भगवान शिव जी के साथ पार्वती जी और उनके दोनों पुत्रों के (कार्तिकेय और गणेश जी) के दर्शन किये। गणेश जी ने जब नारद जी के हाथों में राखी बांधी हुई देखी तो गणेश जी का पूंछा की देवर्षि ये आपके हाथ मे क्या बंधा है, तो नारद जी ने कहा कि ये तो राखी है जो हर रक्षाबंधन को बहन अपने भाई की कलाई पर बांधती है। ये सुनते ही गणेश जी ने कहा कि मैं भी राखी बाँधूँगा। तो नारद जी बोले लेकिन आपकी तो कोई बहन ही नहीं है। तब गणेश जी ने अपने माता पिता से आग्रह किया की उनको एक बहन दे दे। इतने में माता पार्वती के मुख से निकला की काश हमारी एक बेटी भी होती तो आज हमारे पुत्रों को राखी बांधती।
इतना कहते ही कैलाश में एक ध्वनि गूंजी की “ऐसा अवश्य ही होगा आपको पुत्री प्राप्त होगी। वह आवाज़ कैलाश पर्वत पर लगे एक कल्प वृक्ष से आ रही थी। भगवान् शिव शंकर जी ने माता पार्वती से कहा की आप कल्प वृक्ष के नीचे जाकर अपनी मनोकामना मांगे। तो आपको पुत्री अवश्य प्राप्त होगी। माता जी ने ऐसा ही किया। और उनकी गोद में एक बालिका आ गयी। भगवन भोले नाथ ने उसका नाम अशोक सुंदरी रखा। इस प्रकार माता पार्वती और भगवान् शिव को एक पुत्री प्राप्त हुई और उनके पुत्रों को एक बहन मिल गयी।
किस राक्षस ने किया शिव पुत्री का अपहरण
अशोक सुंदरी जब बड़ी हो गयी तो वह एक दिन अपनी सखियों के साथ वन में विचरण करते हुए धरती लोक तक पहुंच गयी। वे धरती की अलौकिक सुंदरता पर मोहित हो गयी और अपनी सखियों के साथ पृथ्वी पर आ गयी। अचानक वहाँ एक राक्षस जिसका नाम हुण था वो वह आ गया, और राजकुमारी अशोक सुंदरी को अपहरण कर के ले जाने लगा। उसी समय राजा आयु के पुत्र राजकुमार नहुष जिनका पालन पोषण महर्षि वशिष्ट और माता अरुंधति ने किया था । वह वन में अपने मित्रों के साथ क्रीड़ा क्र रहे थे। अचानक उनको किसी के चीखने की आवाज़ सुनाई दी। उनको लगा की किसी नारी को मदद की आवश्यकता है। उन्होंने तुरंत अपना बाण निकला और राक्षस पर प्रहार किया। और उस राक्षस से युद्ध करके राजकुमारी के प्राण बचाये। बाद में अशोक सुंदरी को राजकुमार नहुष से प्रेम हो गया। और नारद जी ने उनका विवाह करवा दिया।

At the same time a son was born to that king. His name was "Nahush". It was Rakshabandhan that day, the king's daughter tied a rakhi to her brother, Narad ji was watching all this. When he wanted to tie a rakhi too, Narad ji called the king's daughter as his sister and said, sister, won't you tie me a rakhi.
The king's daughter tied a rakhi to Narad ji as soon as she heard the stem. In this way Narad ji got a sister. Now Narad ji reached Mount Kailash while wandering where he saw Parvati ji and his two sons (Kartikeya and Ganesh ji) along with Lord Shiva. When Ganesh ji saw Rakhi tied in Narad ji's hands, he asked Ganesh ji, Devarshi, what is it tied in your hand, then Narad ji said that it is rakhi which sister ties on her brother's wrist every Raksha Bandhan. On hearing this, Ganesh ji said that I will also tie Rakhi. So Narad ji said, but you don't have any sister. Then Ganesh ji urged his parents to give him a sister. In the meanwhile, it came out from the mouth of Mother Parvati that if only we had a daughter, she would have tied rakhi to our sons today.
As soon as he said this, a sound echoed in Kailash, “It will definitely happen that you will get a daughter. That sound was coming from a Kalpa tree on Mount Kailash. Lord Shiv Shankar told Mother Parvati to go under the Kalpa tree and ask for your wish. Then you will definitely get a daughter. Mother did the same. And a girl child came in his lap. Lord Bhole Nath named her Ashok Sundari. Thus Mother Parvati and Lord Shiva got a daughter and their sons got a sister.
Which demon kidnapped Shiva's daughter
When Ashok Sundari grew up, one day she reached the earth while wandering in the forest with her friends. She was fascinated by the supernatural beauty of the earth and came down to earth with her friends. Suddenly a demon named Hun came there, and started abducting the princess Ashok Sundari. At the same time, Prince Nahusha, the son of King Ayu, was brought up by Maharishi Vashishta and mother Arundhati. He was playing with his friends in the forest. Suddenly they heard someone's cry. They felt that some woman needed help. He immediately took out his arrow and struck the demon. And fight with that monster and save the life of the princess. Later Ashok Sundari fell in love with Prince Nahush. And Narad ji got them married.
