Navratri: नवरात्रि के 9 दिन भक्ति और साधना के लिए बहुत ही पवित्र माने जाते हैं। पहले दिन शैलपुत्री (Shailputri) की पूजा की जाती है। शैलपुत्री हिमालय की पुत्री (daughter of Himalaya)हैं। हिमालय पर्वतों का राजा है। वह अटल है, उसे कोई हिला नहीं सकता। जब हम भक्ति का मार्ग चुनते हैं, तब हमारे मन में भी ईश्वर के प्रति वही अटूट आस्था होनी चाहिए, तभी हम अपने लक्ष्य तक पहुँच सकते हैं। यही कारण है कि नवरात्रि के पहले दिन शैलपुत्री की पूजा की जाती है।
इस वर्ष 2022 में शारदीय नवरात्रि घटस्थापना मुहूर्त 26 सितंबर 2022 को सुबह 06:21 बजे से 08:06 बजे तक रहेगा. इसी के साथ घटस्थापना अभिजीत मुहूर्त सुबह 11:58 बजे से 12:46 बजे तक रहेगा। तो आइए जानते हैं मां शैलपुत्री की कहानी
मां शैलपुत्री की कथा (Story of Maa Shailputri)
मां शैलपुत्री को सती के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। उनकी कथा इस प्रकार है- एक बार प्रजापति दक्ष ने यज्ञ करने का निश्चय किया। इसके लिए उन्होंने सभी देवताओं को निमंत्रण भेजा, लेकिन भगवान शिव को नहीं। देवी सती अच्छी तरह जानती थीं कि उनके पास निमंत्रण आएगा, लेकिन ऐसा नहीं हुआ। वह उस यज्ञ में जाने के लिए बेचैन थी, लेकिन भगवान शिव ने मना कर दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि उनके पास यज्ञ में जाने का कोई निमंत्रण नहीं आया है और इसलिए वहां जाना उचित नहीं है। सती नहीं मानी और बार-बार यज्ञ में जाने का आग्रह करती रहीं। सती की अवज्ञा के कारण शिव को उनकी बात माननी पड़ी और अनुमति दे दी।
जब सती अपने पिता प्रजापिता दक्ष के यहां पहुंचीं तो उन्होंने देखा कि कोई उनसे आदर और प्रेम से बात नहीं कर रहा है। सब लोग उनसे बुरा बर्ताव कर रहे थे केवल उनकी माँ ने उन्हें प्यार से गले लगाया। उसकी बाकी बहनें उसका उपहास कर रही थीं और सती के पति भगवान शिव का भी तिरस्कार कर रही थीं। खुद दक्ष ने भी अपमान करने का कोई मौका नहीं छोड़ा। ऐसा व्यवहार देखकर सती उदास हो गईं। वह अपना और अपने पति का अपमान सहन नहीं कर सकी... और फिर अगले ही पल उसने वह कदम उठाया जिसकी खुद दक्ष ने भी कल्पना नहीं की होगी।
सती ने उसी यज्ञ की अग्नि में स्वयं को मार कर अपने प्राणों की आहुति दे दी। जैसे ही भगवान शिव को इस बात का पता चला, वे दुखी हो गए। दु:ख और क्रोध की ज्वाला में जलकर शिव ने उस यज्ञ को नष्ट कर दिया। इस सती का पुन: यहीं हिमालय में जन्म हुआ और वहीं जन्म होने के कारण उनका नाम शैलपुत्री पड़ा।
शैलपुत्री का नाम पार्वती भी है। उनका विवाह भी भगवान शिव से हुआ था
मां शैलपुत्री का वास वाराणसी में माना जाता है। शैलपुत्री का एक अति प्राचीन मंदिर है जिसके बारे में मान्यता है कि यहां मां शैलपुत्री के दर्शन मात्र से ही भक्तों की मनोकामनाएं पूरी होती हैं। ऐसा भी कहा जाता है कि नवरात्रि के पहले दिन यानी प्रतिपदा के दिन मां शैलपुत्री के दर्शन करने वाले भक्त को अपने वैवाहिक जीवन के सभी कष्टों से मुक्ति मिल जाती है. मां शैलपुत्री का वाहन वृषभ है, इसलिए उन्हें वृषरुधा भी कहा जाता है। उनके बाएं हाथ में कमल और दाहिने हाथ में त्रिशूल है।

Story of Maa Shailputri
Maa Shailputri is also known as Sati. His story is as follows - Once Prajapati Daksha decided to perform a Yagya. For this he sent an invitation to all the gods, but not to Lord Shiva. Goddess Sati knew very well that an invitation would come to her, but it did not happen. She was restless to go to that yagya, but Lord Shiva refused. He said that no invitation has come to him to go to the Yagya and hence it is not appropriate to go there. Sati did not obey and kept urging again and again to go to the yagya. Due to Sati's disobedience, Shiva had to obey her and give her permission.
When Sati reached her father Prajapita Daksha's place, she saw that no one was talking to her with respect and love. Everyone was treating him badly, only his mother hugged him lovingly. The rest of her sisters were ridiculing her and also despising Lord Shiva, the husband of Sati. Even Daksha himself did not leave any chance to insult him. Seeing such behavior, Sati became sad. She could not bear the humiliation of herself and her husband... and then the very next moment she took a step that even Daksha himself could not have imagined.
Sati sacrificed her life by killing herself in the fire of the same yagya. As soon as Lord Shiva came to know about this, he became sad. Burning in the flames of sorrow and anger, Shiva destroyed that yagya. This Sati was again born here in the Himalayas and due to her birth there, she was named Shailputri.
The name of Shailputri is also Parvati. She was also married to Lord Shiva
Maa Shailputri's abode is believed to be in Varanasi. There is a very ancient temple of Shailputri, about which it is believed that the wishes of the devotees are fulfilled only by the sight of Maa Shailputri here. It is also said that a devotee who visits Maa Shailputri on the first day of Navratri i.e. on Pratipada gets freedom from all the troubles of his married life. Maa Shailputri's vehicle is Vrishabha, hence she is also called Vrisharudha. He holds a lotus in his left hand and a trident in his right hand.
