क्या है पुरुषोत्तम माह का महत्व?
हिन्दू धर्म, ज्योतिष शास्त्रों के अनुसार खरमास यानी मलमास को निकृष्ट मानकर इस मास में किसी भी प्रकार के शुभ कार्य को वर्जित माना जाता है। पुरुषोत्तम मास का अर्थ जिस माह में सूर्य संक्रांति नहीं होती वह अधिक मास कहलाता होता है। इनमें खास तौर पर सभी तरह के मांगलिक कार्य वर्जित माने गए है, लेकिन यह माह धर्म-कर्म के कार्य करने में बहुत फलदायी है।
इस मास में किए गए धार्मिक आयोजन पुण्य फलदायी होने के साथ ही ये आपको दूसरे माहों की अपेक्षा करोड़ गुना अधिक फल देने वाले माने गए हैं। पुरुषोत्तम मास में सभी नियम अपने सामर्थ्य अनुसार करना चाहिए। जितना हो सके उतना संयम यानी ब्रह्मचर्य का पालन, फलों का भक्षण, शुद्धता, पवित्रता, ईश्वर आराधना, एकासना, देवदर्शन, तीर्थयात्रा आदि अवश्य करना चाहिए।
हिन्दू कैलेंडर के अनुसार वर्ष 2023 में श्रावण माह के अंतर्गत ही अधिकमास/पुरुषोत्तम मास का प्रारंभ हो रहा है। इस बार सावन 4 जुलाई से प्रारंभ होकर 31 अगस्त तक जारी रहेगा, जबकि अधिकमास 18 जुलाई से प्रारंभ होकर 16 अगस्त को रहेगा। आपको बता दें कि अधिकमास आने के कारण इस बार 59 दिनों का श्रावण मास होगा।
अधिक मास व्रत कथा
इस कथा के अनुसार, खरमास को जब देवताओं एवं मनुष्यों के द्वारा नकारा गया और इसकी निंदा की गई, तब खरमास इस निंदा और अपमान से दुखी होकर भगवान विष्णु के पास पहुंचा और अपनी व्यथा सुनाई। मास ने कहा कि उसकी हर जगह निंदा होती है और वह किसी के लिए भी स्वीकार्य नहीं है। अत: उसका कोई स्वामी नहीं है।
मास की बात सुन भगवान विष्णु उसे अपने साथ गौलोक में भगवान श्रीकृष्ण के पास लेकर गए। रत्नरड़ित सिंहासन पर वैजयंती माला धारण कर विराजित श्री कृष्ण को जब यह व्यथा सुनाई गई कि खरमास में कोई मांगलिक कार्य नहीं होता और हर जगह उसका अनादर होता है, तो श्री कृष्ण ने उसकी व्यथा सुनकर कहा- कि इस संसार में अब मैं तुम्हारा स्वामी हूं। मैं तुम्हें स्वीकार करता हूं। अब कोई तुम्हारी निंदा नहीं करेगा।
भगवान श्री कृष्ण ने मलमास को स्वीकार कर उसे अपना नाम दिया, अर्थात् पुरुषोत्तम मास। भगवान ने कहा कि अब तुम्हें पुरुषोत्तम मास के नाम से जाना जाएगा। जो तप गोलोक धाम में पद को पाने के लिए मुनि, ज्ञानी कठोर करते हैं, वह इस माह में अनुष्ठान, पूजन और पवित्र स्नान से प्राप्त होगा।
यही कारण है कि पुरुषोत्तम मास में किया जाने वाला स्नान, ध्यान, अनुष्ठान हमें ईश्वर के निकट ले जाता है।
What is the importance of Purushottam month?
According to Hindu religion and astrology, any kind of auspicious work is prohibited in this month by considering Kharmas i.e. Malmas as bad. Meaning of Purushottam month, the month in which there is no Surya Sankranti is called Adhik Maas. In these, especially all kinds of auspicious works are considered prohibited, but this month is very fruitful in doing religious work.
Religious events organized in this month are considered to be fruitful and give you crores of times more results than other months. In Purushottam month, all rules should be followed according to your ability. As much restraint as possible i.e. following celibacy, eating fruits, chastity, purity, worship of God, monotony, Devdarshan, pilgrimage etc. must be done.
According to the Hindu calendar, in the year 2023, Adhikamas/Purushottam month is starting within the month of Shravan. This time Sawan will start from 4th July and continue till 31st August, while Adhikamas will start from 18th July to 16th August. Let us tell you that due to the coming of Adhikamas, this time there will be 59 days of Shravan month.
Adhik Maas Vrat Katha
According to this legend, when Kharmas was rejected and condemned by gods and humans, then Kharmas, saddened by this condemnation and humiliation, reached Lord Vishnu and narrated his agony. Maas said that he is condemned everywhere and is not acceptable to anyone. So it has no owner.
After listening to Maas, Lord Vishnu took him along with him to Lord Krishna in Golok. When Sri Krishna, sitting on a jeweled throne wearing Vaijayanti Mala, was told that there is no auspicious work in Kharmas and he is disrespected everywhere, then Shri Krishna said after listening to his agony – that I am your master in this world. . I accept you Now no one will condemn you.
Lord Shri Krishna accepted Malmas and gave it his name, i.e. Purushottam month. God said that now you will be known as Purushottam month. The austerity that sages and wise men do to attain a position in Golok Dham, will be achieved in this month by rituals, worship and holy bath.
This is the reason that bath, meditation, rituals performed in Purushottam month take us closer to God.
