शिवलिंग का अर्थ क्या है
लिंग का अर्थ संस्कृत में चिन्ह, प्रतीक होता है। शिवलिंग का अर्थ हुआ शिव का प्रतीक।
शिवलिंग भगवान शिव की रचनात्मक और विनाशकारी दोनों ही शक्तियों को प्रदर्शित करता है। शिवलिंग का अर्थ होता है ‘सृजन ज्योति’ यानी भगवान शिव का आदि-अनादि स्वरुप। सूर्य, आकाश, ब्रह्माण्ड तथा निराकार महापुरुष का प्रतीक होने का कारण ही यह वेदानुसार ज्योतिलिंग यानी व्यापक ब्रह्मात्मलिंग जिसका अर्थ है ‘व्यापक प्रकाश’। शिवपुराण के अनुसार ब्रह्म, माया, जीव मन, बुद्धि, चित्त, अहंकार, आकाश, वायु, अग्नि, जल और पृथ्वी को ज्योतिलिंग या ज्योति पिंड कहा गया है। शिवलिंग का आकार-प्रकार ब्रम्हांड में घूम रही आकाश गंगा के समान ही है। शिवलिंग - हमारे ब्रम्हांड में घूम रहे पिंडो का एक प्रतीक ही है।

शिवलिंग भगवान शिव की निराकार सर्वव्यापी वास्तविकता को दर्शाता है। भगवान शिव का प्रतीक शिवलिंग - सर्वशक्तिमान निराकार प्रभु की याद दिलाता है।

What is the meaning of shivling
Linga means sign, symbol in Sanskrit. Shivling means the symbol of Shiva.
Shivling represents both the creative and destructive powers of Lord Shiva. The meaning of Shivling is 'Srjan Jyoti' i.e. the eternal form of Lord Shiva. The reason for being the symbol of the Sun, the sky, the universe and the formless great man is that according to the Vedas, this Jyotirlinga i.e. wide Brahmatmalinga which means 'wide light'. According to Shivpuran, Brahma, Maya, Jiva, mind, intellect, mind, ego, sky, air, fire, water and earth have been called Jyotirlinga or Jyoti Pind. The shape and size of the Shivling is similar to that of the Akash Ganga moving in the universe. Shivling - is only a symbol of the objects moving in our universe.
