श्री पद्मनाभस्वामी मंदिर का इतिहास
केरल का यह अद्भुत पद्मनाभस्वामी मंदिर आठवीं शताब्दी से यहां मौजूद है। देश के लगभग 108 भगवान नारायण के मंदिरो में से यह सबसे दिव्य और अलौलिक मंदिर माना जाता है। इस मंदिर में मुख्य तौर पर भगवान विष्णु की पूजा-अर्चना की जाती हैं, जिनकी प्रतिमा सर्प पर लेटे हुए दिखाई देती हैं।
त्रावणकोर के प्रख्यात राजा मार्तण्ड वर्मा ने इस मंदिर का फिर से निर्माण करावाया था। वे मार्तण्ड वर्मा ही थे जिन्होंने इस मंदिर में मुराजपम और भद्रदीपम जैसे प्रसिद्ध त्यौहारों की शुरुआत की थी। पद्मनाभस्वामी मंदिर में यह त्यौहार छ: साल में एकबार आयोजित किया जाता है। मुराजपम का मुख्यतः अर्थ होता है प्रार्थना का मंत्रोच्चारण करना। माना जाता है की राजा मार्तण्ड भगवान विष्णु के बहुत बड़े भक्त थे और स्वयं को भगवान विष्णु का दास मानते थे।

मार्तण्ड वर्मा ने त्रावणकोर नामक इस राज्य को 1750 ईसवी में भगवान पद्मनाभ को सौंप दिया। तिरुवनंतपुरम का नाम भी इस मंदिर के मुख्य देवता के नाम पर ही रखा गया है। तिरुवनंतपुरम का मतलब ही है– श्री अनंत पद्मनाभस्वामी की भूमि। बताया जाता है की यह मंदिर सात परशुराम क्षेत्रों में से एक स्थान पर स्थित है।
श्री पद्मनाभस्वामी मंदिर का वास्तुशिल्प
पद्मनाभस्वामी मंदिर के निर्माण कार्य में इसकी वास्तुकला और शैली पर विशेष तौर पर ध्यान दिया गया था, जिसके चलते इसे दक्षिण भारत के बेहतरीन वास्तुकला के उदाहरणों में शुमार किया जाता है। इस मंदिर का निर्माण मुख्यतः केरल और द्रविड़, दो शैलियों को ध्यान में रखते हुए किया गया है। मंदिर के वास्तुशिल्प की संरचना के लिए पत्थर और कांस्य पर नक्काशी की गई है।
हनुमान जी के 10 सबसे प्रसिद्ध मंदिर
पद्मनाभस्वामी मंदिर के प्रांगण में भगवान नारायण की मूर्ति स्थापित है। यह एक विशेष प्रकार की मूर्ति है जिसमें भगवान विष्णु दस मुखों वाले शेषनाग पर शयन की मुद्रा में विराजमान हुए दिखाई देते हैं। बताया जाता है की इस प्रतिमा के निर्माण में लगभग 12000 शलिग्रामों का इस्तेमाल किया गया है। इस मंदिर की एक खास बात यह भी है की भगवान नारायण के तीनों रूपों के दर्शन यहाँ करने को मिल जाते है। प्रवेश करते ही सबसे पहले द्वार पर विष्णु जी के मुख और साँप की आकृति के दर्शन होते हैं। जैसे ही दूसरे द्वार की ओर जाते है तो कमल के पुष्प पर विराजमान ब्रह्माजी के दर्शन होते हैं। तीसरे द्वार पर पहुंचते ही भगवान के चरणों के दर्शन होते हैं।
पंचमुखी हनुमान मंदिर रामेश्वरम
इतना ही नहीं, मंदिर में भगवान विष्णु के नरसिंह अवतार के चित्रों के अलावा गणेश जी और लक्ष्मी जी की भी छवियां देखने को मिलती है। मंदिर के ऊपर एक ध्वज भी स्थापित किया गया है जो की 80 फीट ऊंचा है। मंदिर परिसर को विभिन्न हिंदू देवताओं की सुंदर कलाकृतियों से सुसज्जित किया गया है।

History of Shree Padmanabhaswamy Temple
This wonderful Padmanabhaswamy temple of Kerala has been present here since the 8th century. Out of about 108 temples of Lord Narayan in the country, it is considered to be the most divine and supernatural temple. Lord Vishnu is mainly worshiped in this temple, whose idol is seen lying on a snake.
Marthanda Varma, the famous king of Travancore got this temple rebuilt. It was Marthanda Varma who started the famous festivals like Murajapam and Bhadradeepam in this temple. This festival is held once in six years at the Padmanabhaswamy temple. Murajpam basically means chanting of prayers. It is believed that King Martand was a great devotee of Lord Vishnu and considered himself a servant of Lord Vishnu.
Bhagwan Shree Ram Ji Ke 9 Sabse Prasiddh Mandir
Marthanda Varma handed over this kingdom called Travancore to Lord Padmanabha in 1750 AD. Thiruvananthapuram is also named after the main deity of this temple. Thiruvananthapuram literally means the land of Sri Anantha Padmanabhaswamy. It is said that this temple is situated at one of the seven Parshuram Kshetras.
Architecture of The Temple
Special attention was given to its architecture and style in the construction work of Padmanabhaswamy Temple, due to which it is counted among the examples of the best architecture of South India. The temple has been constructed mainly keeping in mind the two styles of Kerala and Dravida. Stone and bronze have been carved for the architectural structure of the temple.
Hanuman Ji Ke 10 Sabse Prasiddh Mandir
The idol of Lord Narayana is installed in the courtyard of the Padmanabhaswamy temple. This is a special type of idol in which Lord Vishnu is seen sitting on the ten-headed Sheshnag in the sleeping posture. It is said that about 12000 Shaligrams have been used in the construction of this statue.One special thing about this temple is that one can see all the three forms of Lord Narayan here. As soon as one enters, the face of Vishnu ji and the shape of a snake are first seen at the door. As soon as one goes towards the second gate, one sees Lord Brahma sitting on a lotus flower. As soon as you reach the third gate, you can see the feet of God.
Panchamukhi Hanuman Temple Rameshwaram
Not only this, apart from the pictures of Lord Vishnu's Narasimha avatar, images of Ganesh ji and Lakshmi ji are also seen in the temple. A flag has also been installed on top of the temple which is 80 feet high. The temple complex has been adorned with beautiful artefacts of various Hindu deities.
