अहोई अष्टमी का क्या महत्व है
कार्तिक कृष्ण पक्ष में तिथि त्योहारों की भरमार रहती है जिसमें करवा चौथ और अहोई अष्टमी महिलाओं के द्वारा किए जाने वाले विशेष दो पर्व हैं। जिनको मनाते हुए महिलाएँ जहाँ शास्त्रीय एवं लोक रीतिपूर्वक व्रत उपवास करती हैं वहीं सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमों द्वारा इन्हें उत्सव का रूप प्रदान करती हैं। इन दोनों उत्सवों में जहाँ परिवार के कल्याण की भावना भरी हुई होती है वहीं सास के चरणों को तीर्थ मानकर उनसे आशीर्वाद लेने की प्राचीन परंपरा आज भी दिखाई देती है।
कार्तिक कृष्ण पक्ष की अष्टमी अहोई अथवा आठें कहलाती है। इस महीने यह व्रत सोमवार 17 अक्टूबर को मनाया जाएगा। वस्तुतः यह व्रत दीपावली से ठीक एस सप्ताह पूर्व आता है। कहा जाता है इस व्रत को संतान वाली स्त्रियाँ करती हैं। दूसरे शब्दों में यह कहा जा सकता है कि अहोई अष्टमी का व्रत छोटे बच्चों के कल्याण के लिए किया जाता है, जिसमें अहोई देवी के चित्र के साथ सेई और सेई के बच्चों के चित्र भी बनाकर पूजे जाते हैं।

While celebrating whom women observe fasting in classical and folk rituals, they give a form of celebration through cultural programs. In both these festivals, where there is a feeling of welfare of the family, the ancient tradition of taking blessings from mother-in-law's feet as a pilgrimage is visible even today.
The Ashtami of Kartik Krishna Paksha is called Ahoi or Eighth. This month this fast will be observed on Monday 17 October. In fact, this fast comes exactly a week before Deepawali. It is said that this fast is observed by women with children. In other words, it can be said that Ahoi Ashtami fast is observed for the welfare of young children, in which pictures of Sei and Sei's children are also worshiped along with the picture of Ahoi Devi.
